JOSIAH CARPENTER LIBRARY TRUSTEE MEETING
MINUTES
April 16, 2013 7 PM

Present: Mary Schelble, Chair; Rozalind Benoit, Director; Dana Sansom, absent with notification; Nancy Fogg, Secretary

Closed Door Session: postponed until May 21, 2013 at 6:30 PM.

Acceptance of Minutes: Minutes were accepted with changes. (Mary/Nancy)

Old Business:
**OGE Investments: Account information can no longer be accessed on line. Quarterly statements will be issued. Decisions regarding OGE (Energy Corp Investment) postponed to May 2013.
**Library Windows: No further work has been done on the windows. Sylvia Wallace will contact Mr. Roeper for status report.
**Library Stairway: Eric Nillson, Selectman, has not responded with information about the stairway. The architect’s design has not been submitted to Select Board. The director continues efforts to obtain progress information.
**Alternate Trustee: Mr. William Miskoe withdrew his nomination for the position of Alternate Trustee due to other committee work. Suggestions for a candidate for Alternate Trustee requested.
**Policy Review: The library policy manual was reviewed and updated by the subcommittee, Mary Schelble and Roza Benoit. New manuals were distributed to trustees and a plan for continued review reported. A motion passed to accept the changes to A5, “Materials and Equipment Policy” as drafted by the subcommittee. **Library Closing: The library will be closed on Friday, May 31, 2013. All staff will attend the Librarians Conference in Hooksett. Trustees unanimously agreed in a roll call vote by e-mail.
**Contact List: The director will forward a revised contact list to all trustees.
**Special Event: Sharon Olds, author of Stags End, is scheduled to attend the small group Readers/Writers session on May 23. The poet is tentatively scheduled for a reading on June 13, 2013.

Director’s and Treasurers Reports: Reviewed and accepted after discussion.

New Business:
**Schedule Subcommitteee Meetings: Policy meeting tentatively scheduled for May 14, 2013 at 7 PM.
**NHLTA Conference: Trustees and director will leave the library at 7 AM on May 20, 2013.

Adjournment: Moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:50 PM. (Nancy/Mary)
Next Meeting: May 21, 2013, at 7 PM.. A closed session will precede the public meeting for the director’s annual review at 6:30 PM..
