1. Meeting called to order at 5:35.

2. Attendees: Ed Vien (EV), James Hetu (JH), Deb Jordan (DJ), Lyn Roberts (LR), Helen Schiff (HS)
Susan Muenzinger (SM), Ellen Barbasso (EB) and Matt Monahan (MM) representing CNHRPC
Also attending Linda Small (LS).

3. Minutes from April 16, 2008 approved with spelling correction on 8B and date correction on 9
to show next meeting April 23, 2008.

4. CRDC-Steve Heavener wants us to come up with a list of businesses we would like to see in
Pittsfield
B. A. Medical center/practice/hospital satellite office
B. Medical Manufacturing/medical equipment rental facility
C. Pharmaceutical company/durable medical equipment (DME) company
D. Office park with professional/scientific/ technology firms (law, engineering marketing, R&D)
E. Satellite college/trade school (UNH, Tech, etc)
F. Fed Ex type shipping facility
G. Creative Economy-art gallery, dance studio etc (to attract people to downtown)
H. “Smity’s” type cinema pub
I. Hotel/B&B
J. Restaurants
K. Yankee Candle type manufacturing
L. Ben & Jerry’s or Cold Stone Creamery
M. Diary products/farms/ “niche farming or agri-tourism

5. Rt 28 Build-out analysis
A. Original cost $3,000.
B. CNHRPC is doing a study for the state involving land usage, curb cuts, feasibility of
development
C. Information could be used at Town Meeting to show people how development can help the town
and with proper site design will not hurt the view, or interfere with abutting property
D. Business would help raise the tax base, but need something good for the town
E. Cost could range from $10,000 to $18,000.

6. RSA 79
A. Matt provided information packet on the law and application procedures
B. Bring information with us to the Business Showcase
C. Let businesses in town know about it so they can use it if they need to.
D. Can only be used in an area designated as a downtown by the Master Plan,
boundaries can be expanded in the Master Plan rewrite

7. The Chamber is receptive to the idea of adding a message board to the sign on Rt 28

9. Next meeting Wednesday May 7, 2008 at 5:30 P.M. No meeting next week –
Chamber of Commerce Business Showcase on April 30 from 6:00 to 8:00.
