JOSIAH CARPENTER LIBRARY TRUSTEES MEETING

Minutes of the Josiah Carpenter Library Trustees meeting

12/13/2006

The meeting of the Trustees of the Josiah Carpenter Library was called to order at 6:30 pm on December 13, 2006, in the children’s room of the library.

In attendance were, Leslie Vogt, Director; Bob Lemer; Mary Schelble and Bill Provencal.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.

Old Business:

Background Checks: Leslie reported that background checks performed by NH State Police costs $15.00 per person. It was decided that background checks would be done only for new hires effective this date. Background checks would be performed only on those age 18 or over. Motion made and seconded.
Policy Updates: It was decided to begin working on policy updates. Leslie will provide the Trustees with the current Circulation Policy and the Reference Policy. Trustees will review and discuss at next meeting.
Review of Technological Plan: Bill Provencal made minor suggestions to the plan. We will examine this at next meeting.
Electrician: Pat Hefferman will fix the front door outside electrical light He will give estimate as to upgrade of electrical service after we have an air conditioning firm provide us with information on what they would need. The director will look around for a rough estimate on air conditioning needs.
Reports:

Directors report was presented:

§ Leaky Radiator has been repaired.

§ Carol Grainger has agreed to attend future meetings of Trustees when the Director is absent.

§ It was moved to accept the directors report as presented

Monthly Financial Report was presented and discussed. No motion taken.

New Business:

Donation of $1,000 from Globe Manufacturing.

Bill Provencal excused at 6:45 due to meeting conflict.

The next meeting of the Trustees will be held on January 10, 2006, at 6:30 pm. The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 pm.
