MINUTES

Pittsfield School Board Public Meeting – PES Siding and Window Replacement
6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, February 12, 2013
Pittsfield Elementary School

I. CALL TO ORDER

Superintendent Freeman began the meeting at 6:32 p.m.

II. PES PROJECT PROPOSAL

Dr. Freeman discussed the history of PES exterior repairs over the past fifteen years as well as the current need to replace the windows and siding. He distributed a cost estimate provided by Architect Dan Bisson, which estimated the project cost at $615,000. Further, he described the manner in which the cost is proposed to be addressed through both reserve funds and tax revenues. The voters of the District will act on the proposal for financing at the upcoming Annual School District Meeting.

Mr. Wood described the Board’s work on the PES facility needs, including the reroofing project that was accomplished in 2012; the completion of the reroofing will potentially allow the District to complete the project without the need for a bond, saving a good deal of money in interest payments.

III. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Members of the public asked a number of questions about the project; responses were provided by Dr. Freeman, Mr. Wood, and other members of the School Board.

With no further questions, the discussion concluded and the public meeting ended at 7:10 p.m.
