Opening:
The meeting of the Trustees of Trust Funds was called to order at 8:10 AM, February 13, 2013 in the Pittsfield Town Hall by Harry Vogt, Meeting Chair.
Approval of Minutes: Minutes of the January 11, 2013 meeting were approved as written.
Approval of Treasurer’s Report: The treasurer’s report was approved as distributed.
Old Business:
Sanderson Fund requests from the Red Cross, The Pittsfield Firefighters Association and Cub Scouts were reviewed and discussed and granted.
Review of fixed income investment and alternative investment goals and guidelines (Band, Cemetery, Trusts, Sanderson) were tabled until more information could be received.
New Business:
1. MS-9 & MS-10 Reports: reviewed and signed.
2. Foss Scholarship Committee Email address:
a. Foss, FossScholar, FossTrust, ScholarshipFoss: Email address for the Foss Scholarship were discussed. Suggestions to be sent to Clayton Wood (Website Committee) for availability and/or confirmation.
b. Email name for Trustees of Trust funds: Email address for the Trustees of the Trust Funds were discussed. Suggestions to be sent to Clayton Wood (Website Committee) for availability and/or confirmation.
3. Sample grant application – Sanderson Fund
A template was introduced that might be used as an online application form to be submitted by
applicants requesting funds. Additions included adding the purpose of the trust request and the
amount requested from those requesting funds.
4. Pittsfield School District regarding uncollected: Cara to research and clarify with
School District.
5. Foss Scholarship Awards Committee By-Laws: Adoption of recommended
Revisions to be discussed at the next committee meeting.
6. Update Foss Scholarship non-binding pledge to include sharing email with
affiliated school groups? It was decided that the committee would not “share” information,
but rather would facilitate communication for those requesting access to Foss Scholars.
7. Date for annual mailer to Foss Scholarship recipients. Suggested date of mailing was
discussed to be in May as to congratulate those finishing up their studies for the year and
possibly graduating from school.
