Pittsfield Conservation Commission (PCC)
February 28, 2013 Meeting Minutes

Call to order: 7:00 PM by Chairman Chris Hill.

Present: Members: Chairman Chris Hill (CH), Vice Chairman Brian Mika (BMik), Secretary Diana Westgate (DW), Member Carl Wallman (CW) Alternate Bill Miskoe (BMis)
Visitor Denise Turcotte.

Treasurer’s Report: $47,278.90 remains in the Conservation Fund.

Meeting Minutes: The minutes of the January meeting were reviewed and accepted.

Public Input: The issue of open space is under discussion by the Planning Board.

Old Business
1. Monthly meeting time of the PCC. It is now on the town website as the last Thursday of the month.
2. Committee Search Effort Carl Wallman has joined the PCC as a member. Bill Miskoe and Ted Mitchell have joined the PCC as alternate members.
3. PMHS Intern. BMik has volunteered to work with an interested student. BMik will make contact with the director of the program next week.
4. Thompson Forest logging status. First checks have been completed. An update will follow.
5. Other. The dam removal at Berry Pond is underway.

New Business
Saving Special Places Conference. It will take place on April 6th. Early registration is available. Information about is available at SpecialPlaces.org.

PCC Budget Control and practices To more easily keep track of expenditures and the balance in the PCC account, we voted to have all expenditures from this account be recorded by one person. Bmik agreed to be the designated account keeper.

We agreed that board terms are for three years.
