Minutes of the Josiah Carpenter Library Trustees meeting

July 12, 2006

The meeting of the Trustees of the Josiah Carpenter Library was called to order at 6:28 pm on July 12, 2006, in the children’s room of the library.

In attendance were, Leslie Vogt, Bob Lemer, Mary Schelble, and Doug Andrews.

The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted.

The Director’s and Treasurer’s reports were discussed and approved

There was a discussion regarding the inheritance that was left to the library, and it was decided that we would send a letter telling the family what was done with the coins and paintings.

There was also a discussion about the wording of the internet usage permission slip. It was determined that a less specific version would be looked at during the August meeting.

It was noted that the building will be inspected on the 19th and that two bids will be sought for the work to be done on the roof.

We received a donation of $150.00 to be used for the purchase of large print books. A letter of thanks will be sent.

The amount of money in the CD was been raised to $8,500.00 and has been reinvested at 5.1% interest.

Upon discussing the needs of the library it was voted to purchase a number of new book cases to be used in the adult section of the library. It was also voted to purchase two dehumidifiers to preserve the quality of the books.

The rough budget will be formed at the August meeting, and the final budget will be produced at the September meeting.

The next meeting of the Trustees will be held on August 9, 2006, at 6:30 pm. The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 pm.
