Budget Committee

Meeting called to order at 7:15

Attendance: C. Keuenhoff, L. Vogt, L. Small, F. Hast, H. Schiff, D. Munn, L. Deane, B. Abbott

Absent were: H. Schoppmeyer, R. Morse, S. Palmer, A. MacLellan and L. Okrent

The nominations for secretary, no nominations were made. Discussion for this to be table to the next meeting.

Next was discussion on the scheduled meeting times as sent out with the notice for this meeting. They were gone over and generally approved by the committee. We will have the next meeting on Wednesday 15 October 2008 at 7pm in the Selectman’s meeting room. The Quarterly reports for the town and the school should be ready by then.

We had discussion on the Budget and Finance work shop and budget trainings. I need to follow up on some information to check out the financing of the class. The class on 23 September @ C.R. Sparks in Manchester.

We discussed the nominations and positions for Chair and Vice Chair these also were tabled and we were to continue as status quo as of tonight until the next meeting we will make our choices then to voting of officers to be held on October 15, at our next budget meeting.

We had some discussion on the fuel cost for the town and the school. We also discussed the state fuel station closing this October.

We had discussion on the damages and repairs from the tornado and the storms that went through our town. A discussion of overtime cost but that was not finished yet so it will be a short while before the totals are available.

Question posed to us, if anyone knows of someone who would be interested in working on the Budget Committee to fill the open position (Merrill Vaughan resigned, we wish him well in his classes, his term would have ended 2009) please contact Cedric Dustin (The Town Moderator)

We discussed the Town Meeting, Town Voting, Town School meeting Dates and scheduling no decision by the committee or the selectman have been made at this time. I Collected Ethics forms from those who attended. Just a reminder to Bring in to Cara your Budget Notebooks with your names on them and for Leslie for the School Notebooks for us again this year.
