The April minutes were not available so they will be reviewed at the July meeting. No meeting was held in May because only two members were present.

No treasurer’s report was available.

The committee reviewed packing slips and invoices from The Life Guard Store for new ropes, rescue tubes and covers, and new rescue board and from Jim Webber for a load of beach sand (($550). They also reviewed a letter from the Select Board regarding the application for recreation area usage by the Rotary on August 18, 2010.

Pay amounts were reviewed and it was determined that the recreation employees will be at the following rates: Maryellen Plante-$12..00 per hour, Ian Reese- $10.00 per hour, Chris Ward $9.50 per hour, Mike Adams- $9.00 per hour, Rebekah Adams -$8.00 per hour, and Max Tuttle and Sara Adams- $7.25 per hour. The board approved reimbursement for 25% of Rebekah’s total training cost for her life guarding certificate at this time, 25% more to be paid at the end of the season, and 25% paid at the beginning of next season if she works at the area again next year per the Select Board’s Reimbursement policy. Nick will take care of getting new signage for the recreation area.
Three new signs will be hung by the entrance that will read: Please watch your children, Shallow Water- No diving, and No breath holding. Other general signs will be purchased- including No parking, No admittance, No diving and Minni will update the old signs as needed. .

Minni will order new chains for the swing set. And sand will be put at the bottom of the slide, under the swings, and on the beach volley ball court.

Lynda again told the board the all of the boards at the White’s Pond dam are out because the dam was deemed unsafe by the State because the spillway was too small.

Painting and other improvements started at the recreation area were discussed and Minni will continue to work with Steve Catalano from Rotary to be sure that the work is completed.

Respectfully submitted,

Maryellen Plante
