Minutes of the Josiah Carpenter Library Trustees Meeting

The meeting of the Trustees of the Josiah Carpenter Library was called to order at 6:30
p.m. on March 11, 2008, in the children’s room of the library.
In attendance: Director Leslie Vogt, Mary Schelble and Bill Provencal. Absent Sylvia
Wallace
Acceptance of Minutes: The minutes of February 12, 2008 were accepted as printed..
Old Business:
? Library repairs: Mary addressed the following as an update for the Trustees:
o Front Door tiles. Work has been completed
o Radiator Leak. Work has been completed
o Gutter and Down Spout. Have been installed
o Patches in asphalt on left side of building. Temporarily repaired, will need
further work.
? Meggin Dail of the Pittsfield Players. She has not responded back to the Trustees
in reference to ticket sales through the Library.
Reports:
? Directors Report
o Finlay Foundation. Leslie has submitted the library’s application for the
$25,000 award.
o Library Collection on Website. Leslie provided an update on the status of
using the Scriblio database and the work being done on this project by the
Website Committee.
o Employee Pay Scale. Mary moved to have the Employee Pay Scale, 2008
finalized as presented in the Town Budget. Motion was seconded by Bill,
motion passed.
o Circulation History. Leslie presented the Circulation report for 2007 with
comparisons to past years.
o SILC is to meet at Josiah Carpenter Library for their quarterly meeting in
March of 2008.
o The Budget Committee has increased the Selectmen’s budget for the
library by $1,000.
? Treasurers Report was presented and discussed briefly. Motion made and
seconded and approved to accept both the Directors Report and the Treasurers
Report.
Miscelaneous:
? The question of the Children’s Hour was brought up by Bill, was discussed
briefly. Awaiting the return of Sylvia Wallace before any action is taken.
The next meeting will be on April 8th at 6:30 pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 pm.
