Pittsfield Economic Development Committee
March 25, 2009

1. Meeting opened at 5:35.

2. Attendees: Ed Vien (EV), James Hetu (JH), Lyn Roberts (LR), Helen Schiff (HS), Susan
Muenzinger (SM), Scott Ward, Brenda Butterfield, Stephen Heavener, Shane Carter, Ed Lagraize,
Linda Small (LS), Paul Skowron (PS), and Matt Monahan representating CNHRPC.

3. Minutes from March 4, 2009 approved with a correction on 4B “Matt and Ed went to a Planning
Board meeting as a follow-up.”

4. Stephen Heavener told us that someone had bought the Pittsfield Weave building
A. He wants to bring in a business that will help the town and provide jobs for people
B. He thinks Pittsfield has potential

5. Brenda Butterfield would like to expand the Farmers Market and maybe have a small storefront
for those things that do not sell on Thursdays.

6.Zoning Ordinance & Site Regulations
A. A workshop was suggested to discuss process of how to get the regulations you need and want
B. It was suggested that if someone from CNHRPC came to talk to the town, there would be less
personality conflicts and people would listen better.
C. Workshop would include planning board, zoning board, selectmen, EDC and any other
town group or individuals that would be interested
D. We need a professional help to write ordinances that have precise language
E.Needs to show positive direction for the town so that people will vote for it

7. Identify companies to direct mail regarding ads for wi-fi
A. HS will e-mail us with and xcel file of businesses

8.Other
A. A letter will be sent to Jack Barnes regarding the “Park and Ride’ project.
B.PS will send a letter to Liquor Commission to get an update on status of NH liquor store in town
C. MM sent us a link to SCORE-free consulting aid for new businesses-maybe we should put it
on our town web site
D. YMCA- new director at Concord facility- will contact him and invite him to a meeting in April
E. Clayton Wood coming to April 8 meeting to give an update on wi-fi

9. Next meeting Wednesday April 8, 2009 at 5:30 P.M.
