JOSIAH CARPENTER LIBRARY TRUSTEE MEETING

May 15, 2012

Present: Dana Sansom, Chairman, Sylvia Wallace, Treasurer, Rosa Benoit, DirectorMary Schelble, Secretary

Moved and seconded (Sylvia/Dana) to accept the minutes of the April 23, 2012 non-public meeting.

Moved and seconded (Sylvia/Mary) to go into non-public session.

The Josiah Carpenter Library Board of Trustees held a posted non-public meeting at the Josiah Carpenter Library for May 15, 2012 at 7:50 pm for discussion and decisions pertaining to employee wages, staffing positions and personnel matters pursuant to NH RSA 91-A:3 Non-Public Session.

Business:

The Director reported her meetings with staff as a whole and each staff member individually to inform them of the changes that were to be implemented pertaining to her being salaried and the new hours for personnel plus the coverage that would need to be met due to the library’s being opened on Saturdays during the summer (26 hours per week all year long). She felt the staff understood the reasoning for the changes and were comfortable with them.

The Director showed the trustees how she has been managing her own hours since the last meeting and the trustees had a better understanding of how it helps her to manage the work load. The trustees reviewed the revised Library Staffing Policy with a lengthy discussion. It was moved and seconded (Mary/Sylvia) to accept the revised policy. Also moved and seconded ((Mary/Sylvia) was the Library Open Hours and Holiday Closing Policy. (This policy had been accepted at the April 23rd meeting with formal motion being made May 15th. )

Adjournment: It was moved and seconded to adjourn at 8:55 pm (Mary/Dana) with all in agreement.
