JOSIAH CARPENTER LIBRARY TRUSTEE MEETING
MINUTES
May 21, 2013

Present: Mary Schelble, Chair; Dana Sansom, Treasurer, Rozalind Benoit, Director; Nancy Fogg, Secretary

Closed Door Session: Opened at 6:40 PM. to cover personnel matters.

Public Hearing: Convened at 7:27 PM following closure of non-public secession.

Acceptance of Minutes: Minutes were accepted with changes. (Mary/Dana)

Old Business:
**Library Stairway: Selectmen delegated Paul Skowran, Town Manager, to oversee project. Quotes have
been requested from additional architects. Construction of new stairway is delayed. Revisions to summer
programs are in progress because Children’s Room will probably not be available.
**Library Windows: Andy Roeper, contractor, reported on 5/13/13 that 8 windows are in progress and 2 are
ready for installation. Sylvia Wallace continues to oversee window project.
**OGE Investments: Transferring OGE investments to trustee funds will be considered in an emergency.
No action taken at this time.
**Special Events: Pittsfield Players were contacted regarding venue for benefit tentatively scheduled for
June 13, 2013. Sharon Olds, who received the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 2013 and the T. S. Eliot Award, will be the presenter. Response is pending.
**NHLTA Conference: Reports postponed to June 25, 2013, meeting.

Director’s and Treasurer’s Reports: The Director announced plans for budget revisions, operations and staffing changes. A general discussion ensued with no action taken. The decision was made to continue the discussion in a special non-public meeting on May 28, 2013. Director’s and Treasurer’s Reports were received and accepted after discussion.

New Business:
**Non-Public Meeting: The non-public meeting is scheduled for the afternnon of Tuesday, May 28, 2013.
Personnel matters pertaining to future staffing plans will be discussed.
**Schedule Policy Subcommittee Meeting: Scheduled to June 11, 2013.
