PITTSFIELD CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
MAY 22, 2006
ATTENDEES:

Call to order: 7:00
Approve Minutes of March 27 Meeting:

Old Business:
1. Application to NH DES Alteration of Terrain Bureau:
a. Beck – 125,000 square feet of disturbance for road. NH DES requests comments from Pittsfield CC.
Willoughby thinks this issue was discussed during the site walk and that the CC should request that the
PB give the CC a copy of the actual site plans that come in for review. We’ve not seen the drawings of
the road nor the actual layout of disturbed area, so it is premature for the CC to comment to the NHDES
at this time.
b. Tucci (upper city road): Case is in NHDES hands – administrative order in place. No action at this
time.
2. Tan Rd. update: Laural met with NHDES representative on site. The NHDES representative will now
meet with George Bacheldor to discuss road right of way impinging on wetland boundary.
3. Environmental Policy regarding complaints on private land:
Citizen Complaints will be referred to the State. The Pittsfield CC will provide citizens with a phone
number, an email address, and the DES website address.
Pittsfield CC members will not individually or as a group respond to complaints.
4. Pittsfield Planning Board Site Walks:
The CC will provide technical memorandums to the PB with comments, questions, referrals, or any
other concerns.
New Business:
Election of Officers:
1. Chair: Mark Wallace Laural C. nominated; John M. second. Unanimous.
Vice Chair: John Muenzinger, Susan W. nominated; Laural C. second. Unanimous.
Secretary: Donna Keely. Mark W. nominated; Susan W. second. Unanimous.
2. Protocol for Checking mail and Prioritizing Business:
Mark W and John M. will meet weekly to review all incoming mail, prioritize and contact the other CC
members if action is necessary prior to next scheduled meeting.
Next Agenda suggestions:
Decide on future projects.
Finalize plans for Balloon Rally. Susan will look into promotional widgets to give away at Balloon Rally.
(plastic wrist bands were one idea)
