Pittsfield Conservation Commission (PCC)
Draft Minutes for May 22, 2014 Meeting

Call to order: 7:07 PM by Chairman Chris Hill.

Present: Chairman Chris Hill (CH), Secretary Diana Westgate (DW), Members Bryan Mika (BMik), Carl Wallman (CW), Ted Mitchell (TM), Alternates Bill Miskoe (BMis) and Owen David (OD)

Meeting minutes. April 24th approved.

Treasurer’s Report: No change from the previous report.

Public Input

Sargent Town Forest. Bill Provencal is requesting some money to redo the yellow paint on the trails. He will provide more information booklets as needed. Donna Keeley has offered to print more brochures. Diana Hill wants to do flower pots in the parking area. Bill will ask Pennichuck if they can improve the parking area. (There is an awkward transition from 107 to the parking lot.)

Meeting with Bear Paw. We are invited to a meeting May 27. We will ask them to include Pittsfield as one of the towns where they foster conservation. The meeting will be at 5 pm at their office in Deerfield. CW, BMis and OD plan to attend. After this meeting occurs, we will schedule a meeting with our Select Board and place an article in the Sun. An article is also planned about the public hearing for the Watershed. Carl will check with Bear Paw about June 3 or 17 for a select board meeting.
Planning Board off Shaw Road for potential development.

Old Business

Wild Goose Pond Watershed Signs. Signs are in place.

Town Lots Sign Project Update. Bryan has a list of potential other sites. A concrete corporation has offered to donate their materials.

New Business

Land Walk Schedule: Dustin Park. River Lot. We plan to schedule a walk to see what’s there.

Old Home Day. July 19. Time to start thinking about it.

The Planning Board has received a wetlands permit request for 53 acres on Shaw Road.

Agricultural Subcommittee. Ray Connor would like to create one as a subcommittee of the PCC.
