Pittsfield Website Committee
November 17, 2008

The Pittsfield Website Committee was called to order @ 7:08 pm.
Members present:
Clayton Wood, Chair
Bob Legg
Matt Goodwin
Bill Provencal
Harry Vogt, Secretary

1. Minutes of October 20, 2008 were approved.

2. Ongoing Business

a. Email – Pass-through email accounts have been setup for minutes, website, photos and Channel 24.

b. Content: Clayton is working with Larry Berkson to update and expand website content. Art Morse and Donna Keeley are pulling together information on the history of Pittsfield’s Hot Air Balloon Rally.

c. A Little PR: Clayton distributed copies of a flier he put together on the website for the chamber’s business showcase.

d. Town Administrator’s information needs to be updated.

e. Website Stats: An analysis of website traffic assembled through Google Analytics was distributed. The report showed a dramatic increase in the number of hits around the time of the balloon rally. Clayton noted that Google Analytics can be setup to send out reports automatically.

f. Town WI-FI Coverage: Clayton is still waiting for information on Wi-Fi coverage.

g. Posting of Minutes – Minutes are now being forwarded to Harry for posting on the website with Clayton serving as back-up poster.

h. Newsletter: Clayton suggested that a mailer on the requirements for posting of meeting minutes be sent out periodically by the website committee to remind committee chairs on the need and requirements for posting of meeting notes. Bill Provencal will work with Clayton on this.

i. School District Technology Committee: Clayton’s next meeting with the SDTC is scheduled for November 18. Clayton would like to see the Pittsfield Website Committee take responsibility for the front-end or Superintendent’s Page which would provide information of interest to the public at large such as a list of contacts etc.

j. Pittsfield Drug and Alcohol Coalition – Clayton is working with PDAC to set up a blog.

k. Sub-web Support: Development and access to the sub-web level continues to be a problem that Matt and Clayton are working to resolve.

l. Moving to Pittsfield: Policy is to be developed reflecting discussions the Committee had this past summer regarding advertising on the Moving to Pittsfield page.

3. New Business

a. Christmas Tree Photos: Bob Legg and Bill Provencal will work with the Chamber of Commerce to post pictures taken at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the Town’s website.
