Pittsfield Economic Development Committee
October 1, 2008

1. Meeting called to order at 5:32.

2. Attendees: Ed Vien (EV), James Hetu (JH), Helen Schiff (HS), Lyn Roberts (LR) and Ellen
Barbasso (EB). Also attending Linda Small (LS), and Matt Monahan (MM) from CNHRPC, and
Stephen Heavener from CRDC.

3. Minutes from September 24, 2008 reviewed and accepted as written.

4. Report from Stephen Heavener of Central Regional Planning Development Corp
A. He went to major businesses in Pittsfield to make sure they grow and stay here
B. Explored the possibility of renovating a building
C. Need to determine what types of businesses would work
D. Will review by-laws and articles of incorporation of Suncook Valley Development Corp

5. MM advised us there are tax credits available for research and development
A. We can let some businesses know it is available
B. Give them a letter of recommendation and support
C. Put the information on the EDC web site
D. It is having the desired effect of promoting discussion to make things user-friendly for new
businesses.
E. We are waiting for the Zoning Board to give us their opinions.
