Attendees: Ralph O’Dell – Chair, Clayton Wood, Jim
Pritchard and Ted Mitchell – Secretary

Absent: Helen Schoppmeyer and Paul Metcalf

1. Call to Order: 8:45 am
Met at Pittsfield town hall and traveled to 408
Pembroke Rd for 9:30 am meeting with manager of
facility. Arrived 9:20 am

2. Facility:
— Built July 2010
— Heating is geo-thermal with gas to heat water
— Back up generator for hall lights and pump
— Reminiscent of a good hotel atmospere
— 40 apartments – each has:
– Handicap accessible
– 1 bedroom
– Heating/cooling access panel so resident can
adjust temperature (Quarterly the filter is cleaned
by maintenance personnel)
– Pull cord for emergency help
– 1 lap-sized pet is permitted

— Single building split between two and three floor
— Elevator
— Second floor landing has 2 tables with computers
— Community Room
– Kitchen with tile area between counter and room
– Kitchen incorporated into the room – no
separating wall
– Carpeted – tile carpet not used as wheelchairs will
Hang up on seams
– Restroom just down hall from community room
— Small laundry room off of same corridor
– Contracted to be maintained
— Large patio area off of second floor landing
– 60 foot by 1 foot planter that residents can plant
Flowers and vegetables
— Very large lawn
— Parking enough for one space per apartment plus
4 handicap spaces
— Security:
– Residents have two keys; one for apartment and
The other for outside entrances/exits (they are
locked at all times)
— Physicians make house calls
— Pharmacy delivers prescriptions

3. Discussion ended 9:55 am. Arrived back at town hall
10:20 am and meeting adjourned
