Pittsfield Conservation Commission (PCC)
October 18, 2012 Meeting Minutes

Call to order: 7:00 PM, by PCC Chairman Mark Wallace.
Present: Chairman Mark Wallace (MW), Vice Chairman Bryan Mika (BM), Paul Metcalf (PM), Chris Hill (CH), Secretary Diana Westgate (DW).

Treasurer’s Report: $123.54 remains out of the $650 in the current PCC budget.

Meeting Minutes: The minutes of the October 18 meeting were reviewed and accepted.

Vacant Positions. The PCC has two openings for alternates. Chris Hill has just been appointed as a member. Thank you and congratulations, Chris!

Old Business
1. Thompson Forest. The Thompson Forest sign has been removed. The sign has been removed. The wall will be fixed A pole with wires needs to be removed and the area cleared. George Bachelder will fix roads as necessary. A neighbor has been raking the road.
2. Berry Pond. A sign for Berry Pond will be discussed at the November PCC meeting.
3. Budget 2013. We are requesting $650 for next year plus an increase of $300 to cover increased expenses.
4. November Conservation Workshop. This year it is November 3rd Any member of the PCC who wishes attend is encouraged to register.

Goals for 2013
1. Dustin Barker Forest. The PCC hopes to mitigate the die back that is affecting trees in Dustin Barker
2. Thompson Forest. The PCC will install a gate and appropriate sign for the Thompson Forest trail.
3. Internship. The PCC will create internship opportunities for PMHS students.
4. Suncook Valley Sun Articles. The PCC would like to submit articles on relevant conservation topics.
