Minutes of the Josiah Carpenter Library Trustees Meeting
10/9/07
The meeting of the Trustees of the Josiah Carpenter Library was called to order at 6:30
p.m. on October 9, 2007 in the children’s room of the library.
In attendance: Director Leslie Vogt, Mary Schelble and Bill Provencal. Absent Sylvia
Wallace
Acceptance of Minutes: The minutes of September were accepted as printed..
Old Business:
Review of Draft of the library meeting policy and attachments:
Bill questioned the minimum fee in the 2008 Building Usage fees
attachment. Felt that the 3 hours minimum was excessive. After discussion it
was decided that the minimum hours could be lowered to 2 ½ hours. This would
be effective from October 9, 2007 through December 31, 2007.
Motion was made and accepted on the Application for Use of the Library
Building.
Changes were made to the Draft of Meetings policy. Leslie will make the
changes and bring it for a final vote at the next meeting.
Update on Downspout:
It was noted that Mike McLaughlin, Building Inspector had not
responded to the repair problems in the building, namely:
1. Down spout
2. Radiator leak. Leslie brought up the problem that when the
furnace was started, that problems developed with another
radiator.
3. Loose tile in front entry way.
4. Leak in the furnace room.
Mary suggested to wait another week to see if Mike responds, if not she
will personally call him.
Budget Schedule: Leslie has been in contact with Leon the TA, and hopefully he
will notify us and provide us with a two week notice.
Reports:
Motions were made, seconded and approved to accept the directors report and financial
report.
New Business:
NH Right to Know Law: Mary discussed briefly the guidelines of the NH Right
to Know Law and the changes that were made and that we were in compliance.
Financial Activity for the period January 1 – December 31, 2007: Leslie
explained about the funds available in the budget, and how the budget process
works and how it impact s on the library.
The next meeting will be on November 13, 2007 at 6:30 pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 pm.
