Pittsfield Economic Development Committee
September 10, 2014

1. Meeting opened at 5:33.

2. Attendees: Ted Mitchell (TM), Lyn Roberts (LR), Linda Small (LS), Paul Sherwood (PS)
Donna Ward (DW) and Ellen Barbasso (EB).

3. Minutes for August 27, 2014 were accepted and approved.

4. Decorating Contest
A. Letters were drafted to be sent to the owners of the buildings.
B. We need to determine what limitation there will be on number of students and how many teams
C. Planting will take place next spring.

5. Citizens Bank
A. TM received a call from Lisa P.
B. They are supposed to help with low income and elderly housing
C. If the town approves an agricultural commission Citizens Bank may be able to offer assistance with
that
D. Bank managers should be active on local committees and commissions

6. Next All Board/Commission /Committee Forum will be September 27, 2014
A. Matt Monahan and Stuart Arnett will be coming up with ideas for the agenda.
B. It will also be a continuation of the topic covered by Clayton Wood and Jesse Pacheco.
C. Location Pittsfield Town Hall from 9:00AM-12:00 PM

7. Economic Profile/Economic Assessment
A. Last one was done in 2007
B. PSh and LS sent out emails with attachments
C. Look at them and note areas that are most important to work on
D. Note what information needs to be updated information
E. We can get current information from CNHRPC

8. Sidewalk Conditions and Solutions
A. 2.5 million has been allocated to our region (Safe Routes not available anymore)
B. TM will contact George (Hwy Dept) to come up with a plan for sidewalks that need to be
repaired.
C. Ask for a bond a Town Meeting for $800,000. State will match it and shows
town’s commitment for fixing sidewalks.

9. Other
A. Rep Jim Adams sent a letter to the Select Board thanking the town for helping with Rustic Crust
B. TM will send emails to all board about the upcoming meeting.

10. Next EDC meeting will be September 24, 2014 at 5:30 P.M.

11. Meeting closed at 6:23 P.M.
