Minutes of the Josiah Carpenter Library Trustees meeting

9/12/2006

The meeting of the Trustees of the Josiah Carpenter Library was called to order at 6:30 pm on September 12, 2006, in the children’s room of the library.

In attendance were, Leslie Vogt, Bob Lemer, Mary Schelble, and Bill Provencal.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.

Old Business:

§ Leslie presented the display of bicentennial coins. Problem of ease of display removal was discussed. Maurice Wells will be looking into this problem.

§ Internet Usage policy was discussed. It was moved to accept the policy as presented.

§ Holiday Calendar Revisions. Library will be closed on the following dates: Civil Rights Day, President Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, the evening of the day prior to Thanksgiving and the day after, and December 24rh. Reason for change is savings in staff costs. It was moved to accept the changes as presented.

Reports:

Directors report was presented. It was moved to accept the report as presented
Monthly Financial Report was presented and discussed. It was moved to accept the report as presented.
2007 Library Budget. Discussion as to the wording of the building maintenance request for roof repairs. It was felt that stronger wording should be used and Leslie was asked to reword this accordingly. It was moved to accept the 2007 Library Budget as presented with changes.

New Business:

Bill Provencal was welcomed as a new member of the Library Trustees.

Miscellaneous:

Leslie addressed the problem of the handicapped walkway and the deterioration of the asphalt next to the building. She has volunteered to provide the asphalt for the repair.

The next meeting of the Trustees will be held on October 11 2006, at 6:00 pm. The meeting was adjourned at 7:52 pm.
