Josiah Carpenter Library Trustees Meeting
Minutes of the Josiah Carpenter Library Trustees Meeting
9/18/07
The meeting of the Trustees of the Josiah Carpenter Library was called to order at 6:30
p.m. on September 18, 2007 in the children’s room of the library.
In attendance: Director Leslie Vogt, Mary Schelble, Bill Provencal, and Sylvia Wallace
Acceptance of Minutes: The minutes of August were accepted with one change.
Old Business:
The Board discussed the draft of the library meeting policy at length. Some changes were
made. Leslie will make a final draft with suggested changes.
Leslie has no information yet as to what they are going to do about the downspout. There
is also a leak in the gutter which created a puddle in the furnace room. Leslie spoke to
Leon Kennison about this. She said the furnace was never cleaned this summer, and one
radiator needs repair or adjustment ( one side is hot and the other is cold). The furnace
will be turned on October 1st. Bill will talk to Leon about who is responsible for our
numerous minor needed repairs.
Reports:
The Friends of the library asked Leslie to pick a book on history to be donated to the
library in honor of Bob Lemur for his service as Trustee. The motion was made,
seconded and approved to have Leslie do this. The financial report was discussed.
Motions were made, seconded and approved to accept the directors report and financial
report.
New Business: The budget memo was discussed and some of it reworded. We will bring
it up again in October meeting. The motion was made, seconded and approved to accept
the budget memo with its recommended building improvements.
Miscellaneous: The Friends brought up the topic of the front door of the library. They
thought it was in need of replacement. Bill said he’d do some research on the cost. We
will bring this up again at the October meeting.
The next meeting will be on October 9, 2007 at 6:30 pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Sylvia Wallace, secretary
