Old Business

Signs. BMis and BMik will look into hardware for signs for Berry Pond and Thompson Forest.

Saving Special Places 2014 Land Conference. TM, BMik, CW and CH attended and found it well worthwhile.

Wild Goose Pond Watershed Signs. Signs have been created. They need to be securely installed.

New Business

Update on the BSA land project by Bear Paw. Mark West gave a presentation on the project. It is hoping for a $30,000 contribution from the PCC. PCC members brought up concerns about Bear Paw’s commitment to fostering conservation land in Pittsfield. It is not currently a focus town for Bear Paw.

A vote was taken on the following motion:
When the Bear-Paw Board of Directors votes to designate Pittsfield as one of the towns in which it will continue to promote and accept conservation easements, the PCC will request that the Board of Selectmen release $30,000 of PCC funds to Bear-Paw’s BSA project.
The motion passed: 3 in favor, 1 against and 1 abstention.

Land Use Request to the BOS by Journey’s End Maple Farm
The request was found moot. The town does not own the land in question.

Paddle on Wild Goose Pond. It will take place June 28. Some canoes and kayaks will be available but people are encouraged to bring their own. RSVP is requested..

Adjournment: 9:00 PM.

The next meeting will be May 22, 2014.
