February 12, 2007
Members present: W. Case, L. Deane, C. Dustin, G. Gilman, C. Keuenhoff, L. Okrent,
M. Paradise (School Board rep), J. Prue, H. Schoppmeyer, L. Small (Select Board rep)
Members absent: E. Bahr, M. Vaughan
Meeting was called to order at 7:20 PM.
Minutes of the February 12, 2007 meeting were approved as corrected.
Committee members signed the proposed Town Budget.
Voting to take place on the proposed School Budget:
ARTICLE II:
To determine and fix the salaries of the School Board and the compensation of any other
officers or agents of the Pittsfield School District as follows: Moderator $100.00 per
meeting; Clerk $100.00; Chairman of the School Board $700.00; School Board Members
$600.00 each; School Treasurer $600; and Supervisors of the Checklist $75.00 each per
meeting.

ARTICLE III:
To see if the Pittsfield School District will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Three
Hundred Thousand Six-Hundred and Ninety Dollars and Ninety-One Cents
($300,690.91) for the support of the School Lunch Program. This appropriation will be
funded by a like amount of revenue from the sale of food and state and federal sources.

ARTICLE IV:
To see if the district will vote to approve the cost items included in the collective
bargaining agreement reached between the Pittsfield School Board and the Pittsfield
Teachers Association, which calls for the following increases in salaries and benefits at
current staffing levels:

2007-2008 $342,385.00
2008-2009 $221,533.00
2009-2010 $239,161.00
and further to raise and appropriate the sum of Three Hundred Forty-Two Thousand
Three Hundred and Eighty-Five Dollars ($342,385.00) for the 2007-2008 fiscal year.

ARTICLE V:
To see if the Pittsfield School District will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of
Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000) for the purpose of funding building
maintenance projects, including but not limited to, interior and exterior painting at
Pittsfield Elementary School, resealing brick exterior joints of the exterior of the building
at the Pittsfield Middle High School. Re-Paving the sidewalk at Pittsfield Elementary
School.

ARTICLE VI:
To see if the Pittsfield School District will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of
Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000) to be added to the Pittsfield School District
School Buildings Maintenance Fund Reserve previously established.

ARTICLE VII:
To see if the Pittsfield School District will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of
Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) to be added to the Capital Reserve Fund established
in March 1996 to meet the expenses of educating educationally disabled children under
the provisions of RSA 35: 1-b.

ARTICLE VIII:
To see if the district will vote to raise and appropriate the School Board’s recommended
amount of Nine Million Fifty-Nine Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty-Six Dollars
($9,059,836.00) for the support of schools, for the payment of salaries for the school
district officials, employees and agents , and for the payment of statutory obligations of
the Pittsfield School District.

Moved by S. Small, seconded by W. Case, to cut 1% across the board from this amount.

to finish the article:
The Budget Committee recommends the sum of Eight Million, Nine Hundred Sixty-
NineThousand, Two Hundred Thirty-Eight Dollars ($8,969,238.00) This article does not
include appropriations voted in other warrant articles.

ARTICLE IX:
To see if the Pittsfield School District will vote to create a planning committee to
consider withdrawal from and/or reorganization of, the School Administrative Unit
Number 51: said committee to consist of two members of the Pittsfield School Board,
appointed by the Pittsfield School Board, one member of the Pittsfield Budget
Committee, appointed by the Pittsfield Budget Committee, four public members
appointed by the Moderator; and the Superintendent of Schools, who shall serve as a nonvoting
member of the committee.

Motion Adopted
Budget Committee’s grand total , includes Operating Budget and Warrant Articles,
is $9,376.623.26.
Cara Marston will notify committee members when the proposed School Budget is
ready to be signed.
