Meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM by Chairman Keuenhoff.
Minutes of the February 6, 2008 meeting were approved as corrected after the
addition of
the name of R. Morse in attendance.
Voting on the Pittsfield School District proposed budget began with :
ARTICLE II.
To determine and fix the salaries of the School Board and the compensation of
any other officers or agents of the Pittsfield School District as follows: Moderator
$100.00 per meeting; Clerk $100.00; Chairman of the School Board $700.00;
School Board Members $600.00 each;
School Treasurer $600.00; and Supervisors of the Checklist $75.00 each per
meeting.

ARTICLE III:
To see if the Pittsfield School District will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of
Three
Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty-Four Dollars
($315,724.00)
for the support of the School Lunch Program. This appropriation will be funded
by a like amount of revenue from the sale of food and state and federal
sources. (Estimated tax impact of this article – $0) Recommended by the
Pittsfield School Board. Recommended by the
Pittsfield Budget Committee. (Majority Vote reauired).

ARTICLE IV:
To see if the Pittsfield School District will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of
Twenty-Five
Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) for the purpose of building maintenance at
Pittsfield Elementary School and Pittsfield Middle High School. Recommended
by the Pittsfield School Board. Recommended by the Pittsfield Budget
Committee. (Majority vote reauired).

ARTICLE V:
To see if the Pittsfield School District will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of
Twenty-five
Thousand Dollars ($25,000) to be added to the Pittsfield School District School
Buildings Maintenance Reserve Fund established in March 2004. Recommended
by the Pittsfield School Board. Recommended by the Pittsfield Budget
Committee. (Majority vote required).
(There is currently about $112,000 in this fund)

ARTICLE VI:
To see if the Pittsfield School District will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of
Fifteen
Thousand Dollars ($15,000) to be added to the Capital Reserve Fund established
in March
1996 to meet the expenses of educating educationally disabled children under
the provisions of RSA 35:1-b. Recommended by the Pittsfield School Board.

Budget Committee. (Majority vote required). (There is currently about 105,000 in
this account)

ARTICLE VII:
To see if the district will vote to raise and appropriate the budget committee’s
recommended
amount of Nine Million Eight Hundred and Eighty-Seven Thousand One Hundred
and Thirty-Two Dollars ($9,887,132.00) for the support of schools, for the payment
of salaries for the school district officials, employees and agents, and for the
payment of statutory obligations of the Pittsfield School District. The School
Board recommend the sum of Nine Million Eight
Hundred and Eighty-Seven Thousand One Hundred and Thirty-Two Dollars
($9,887,132.00).
This article does not include appropriations voted in other warrant articles.

a final budget of $9,731.421.

Vote taken on Article VII with the Budget Committee’s recommended figure of
$9,731.421.

The Budget Committee recommends to the School Board that these cuts be
made in
the following areas:
$25,000 from Repairs /Maintenance divided between the Middle/High schools
$85,069 from Assistant Principal line
$35,000 from SAU costs. Members felt that the School Board should consider not
renting
space for the SAU office.
$10,642 Technology increases.
It is felt by Budget Committee members that School Administrative and Upper
Management
costs are too high.
Members are asked to come in to Town Hall on Friday between 9-4 to sign the
MS27 form
for the School Budget.
Next meeting will be Monday, February 18, 2008 at 7PM at town Hall for the
purpose of voting on the Pittsfield Town Budget.
