MEETING MINUTES OF MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2015

CALL TO ORDER

Call to order at 5:45 P.M. by Larry Konopka, Chairman

MEMBERS PRESENT

Larry Konopka, Chairman; Eric Nilssen, Vice-Chair; Linda Small; Gerard LeDuc; Albert Douglas; and Michael Williams, Town Administrator.

MEMBERS ABSENT:

None

NEW BUSINESS:

Larry made the Motion to approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Pittsfield Town Employees. Seconded by Al Douglas.

Larry stated that the town employees have not had a raise since 2010 and he supports this contract and he noted that the cost of the contract with regard to the tax rate will be $0.18 in 2015, $0.10 in 2016, and $0.12 in 2017.

Linda and Eric support pay increases for the employees.

Linda submitted the following written statement: “Although there has been some progress made toward coming to a mutual agreement between the Town and AFT employees, there are some clauses and details in this current proposal that I do not believe are in the best interest of the town, some of which may pose additional future financial liabilities. Therefore, I cannot support this contract.”

Gerard does not like the contract but will vote for it because the employees deserve a raise.

VOTE: 3-2; Yeas, Larry Al, Gerard. Nays; Linda, Eric

ADJOURNMENT

Motion to adjourn, Eric. Seconded by Al Douglas. Carried 5-0.
