Trustees of the Trust Funds Meeting Minutes

Opening:
The meeting of the Trustees of Trust Funds was called to order at 8:14 AM, February 21, 2014 in the Pittsfield Town Hall by Harry Vogt, Meeting Chair.

Approval of Minutes: Minutes of the February 3, 2014 meeting were approved as presented.

Approval of Treasurer’s Report: Trustees signed the State submissions of MS-9 and MS-10 forms.

Old Business:
1. After further review of the correspondence with the State Attorney General’s office, it was decided that the Trustees would not give consent to repurpose funds previously awarded to the PYBA. Communication to PYBA would include this decision.
2. Because of the nature of the PYBA request, the board has decided to seek further counsel on the timely use of funds and grant periods before committing funds toward similar projects.
3. The board reviewed the email to be sent to Foss Scholarship recipients. The board also discussed fundraising as it would pertain to a donation page on the Town’s web site and requests for donations via letters and emails to go out in a May/June timeframe.
New Business:
1. The board discussed the recent dissolution of the Pittsfield Chapter of Dollars for Scholars and the Town-accepted funds of the Greater Pittsfield Citizens Scholarship Fund. Use of a common application for all scholarships overseen by the board was discussed in an effort to simplify the process. After further review, the scholarships affected by this transition and the award process will be brought to the Foss Family Scholarship Committee for discussion and/or acceptance.
