Budget Committee

Meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM by Chairman Keuenhoff
The minutes of the December 12, 2007 meeting were approved as presented.
The minutes of the December 19, 2007 meeting were approved as presented.
This meeting is a Review of all budgets and is open to questioning by the members.
The Public Hearing on the Town Budget will be held in the Lecture Hall of the
High School on Monday, February 11, 2008 at 7PM. At this time, there are no
bonds and no Warrant Articles ready to be presented to this committee.
February 5, 2008 is the last day for cost items to be finalized and the last day for
petitioned warrant articles. If union items are not decided by this date, the budget
will remain as is for the year.
Many questions were directed to Leslie Vogt about the School Budget. The 5 School
Board members had directed the school administrators to keep their budgets under
a 5% increase………..their budget shows a 4.96% increase.
There was a lot of discussion about the Catastrophic Aid revenue and whether it
was overestimated last year.
The SAU budget created a lot of discussion. The budget is written for the SAU
to remain in the current office in the Locke Building. There are no large purchases
anticipated. Chairman Keuenhoff asked that someone from the School Administration
attend the January 30 meeting to answer further questions concerning the SAU.
March 11, 2008 begins the Town Meeting with elections held at Town Hall. Town
Meeting Day will be on Saturday, March 15.
Next meeting of this committee will be Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Town Hall.
