Pittsfield Website Committee
July 21, 2009

The Pittsfield Website Committee was called to order @ 7:10 pm.
Members present:
Clayton Wood, Chair
Bob Legg
Matt Goodwin
Harry Vogt, Secretary

1. Minutes of May 5, 2009 were approved.

2. Website Report –
a. Updates are going well.
b. Links to Rotary’s Balloon Rally are in place.
c. Posting of Old Home Day agenda appears to have worked well.
d. Listing of minutes posted to-date was distributed.

3. Pittsfield Historical Photos – Photos are not yet posted. It is not clear who has a copy of the photos used on the Historical Society’s calendars. Clayton and Harry will review with Historical Society.

4. Old Home Day Photos – Bob has Old Home Day photos posted. Photos will be left posted as downloadable for three weeks then converted to non-downloadable.

5. Balloon Rally – New home page will be developed highlighting balloon rally. This page will run through balloon rally weekend.

6. Drake’s Field Web Cam – Matt will investigate possibility of installing a web cam at drakes field, possibly using one of the adjacent houses.

7. School Website – Clayton is working with Elementary School on development of website. Ultimately Clayton hopes to build a site that is maintained by the school similar to the SAU site.

8. Website Costs – Matt will submit an invoice reflecting cost of hosting the town website.

New Business

1. Library Blog- Town librarian has expressed interest in having a blog page for the librarians. Clayton suggested blog layout mimic layout used on town site for posting minutes

2. Word Press Update – Discussed updating WordPress software. WordPress is offering free upgrade which allows databases to serve 1 page or multi-pages.
