1. Meeting opened at 5:33.

2. Attendees: Ted Mitchell (TM), Lyn Roberts (LR), Linda Small (LS), Paul Sherwood (PSh),
Donna Ward (DW), Ellen Barbasso (EB).

3. Minutes for June 11, 2014 were accepted and approved.

4. Rustic Crust
A. Send a letter to BoS, Planning Board and Zoning Board thanking them for their help in handling
Rustic Crust expeditiously after the fire
B. Planning Board received a complaint that Rustic Crust is a bakery and should not rebuild on
Barnstead Rd because it is not zoned for retail,

5. Letter to Select Board
A. Ask Select Board to send letter to DOT to maintain highway landscaping
B. Rt 28 at Loudon Rd is very overgrown, needs to be mowed
C. DOT does do it in Barnstead
D. LS will send letter as EDC rep to BoS

6. Creation of Events Committee
A. There are two events at Drake’s Field – Old Home Day and Balloon Rally
B. Would like to have other events there to draw people in the summer
C. Some suggestions are: antique cars, motorcycles, craft fair, fishing tournament, road race
D. Need to get permission from the school, since it is their property.

7. Downtown store front window decoration competition
A. Need to set up parameters and framework
B. Some people are already in favor of it
C. Need to contact property owners-Ayla’s, Toy Box, Volpe Rental office, Ping Garden, Jitters
previous location
D. PS said he would check other communities to see how they did it, and check out the store fronts
E. What kind of prizes would there be, and who would contribute towards it?

8. TM received a call from AMENICO regarding the garden
A. They thought the cost would be about $2,000, Ted said it would be about $500.
B. TM will contact them again in late August
C. EDC can do another clean up in that section

9. TM will also contact NEMO about ideas for the welding school
A. If they are eligible for grant money, they would have to partner with PMHS or a community
college
B. There were 29 projects submitted to CEDS, and the welding school received a high score.
C. Sewer, water and sidewalks would be other projects he can submit to CEDS

10. Property on Tilton Hill that might be a good for a trail
A. It is part of the old rail bed
B. Owner does not want a trail through there
C. We may be able to walk through it with several other people.

11. Next EDC meeting will be July 9, 2014 at 5:30 P.M.
