Pittsfield Website Committee – November 16, 2010

The Pittsfield Website Committee was called to order at @ 7:06 pm.

1. Minutes: Minutes of June 29, 2010 were approved.
2. Committee Update:
a. Bill expressed interest in continuing to do the updating for the town calendar on the website.
b. Bill informed the committee that he has received some complaints about the lack of meeting minutes being posted on the town website. Matt and Clayton both confirmed that minutes are posted within hours after being received and in some cases just a few minutes. The problem is that we are not receiving minutes from every board or committee. Clayton will talk to the town administer about the Budget Committee and the Master Plan Committee not submitting minutes.
c. Matt suggested if there are no minutes for a committee to add the text, “no minutes available online, please check with the Town Hall” so that residents will know where to find the minutes if the boards and committees have not submitted them to the Website Committee. This will also help with any confusion that the Website Committee is not posting them online.
d. Clayton suggested that we move the town history from the home page to clean it up and move the current events higher. Matt will do this after the holidays.
e. Matt will add a Christmas picture on the home page with links to local Christmas events.
3. Clayton suggested the committee considers making the Website Committee meetings every 3-4 months instead of every other month.
4. Next Meeting: Tuesday January 18, 2011 at the Pittsfield Elementary School Library.
