Ski Program: There will be a mandatory meeting for all parents on October 19 at the Community Center. The flier is prepared and will go home on Wednesday. The cost of the bus is $504 which will be taken out of the Parks and Recreation budget under the ski program line. The driver is volunteering her time. The program is completely planned and ready to go thanks to James Zensky.
FB Argue Pool Area: Minni will make her report for the swim area at the November meeting.
Harvest Fest: Plans were reviewed for Harvest Fest. We have 100 pumpkins from Duane Family Farm which we are paying $2.00 a piece for. Darrell will pick them up from Duane’s on Saturday morning. Darrell will bring a grill and will cook the burgers and hot dogs. Minni will bring an extra grill if it is needed. Nick is picking up the donuts from Dunkin Donuts and the cider from Laurie Houle on Saturday. He had let Minni know that the portable toilet was to be delivered on Friday. He will also bring tables from the Fire Department and put out cones to block parking for the hayride. Lynda and Minni will pick up all the things from the Recreation Area on Saturday. Jesse and Yvonne will pick up 50 pies for the pie eating contests, prizes for the pie eating contest and the scare crow contest, and more carving tools. The hayride is all set. Tim Riel will be there by 1:00. The local 4-H may set up a table to sell their cookies and candy. At the time of the meeting, Darrell was waiting for Brandon Ward to call back to let him know if he could DJ. There will be no other entertainment. Yvonne is considering putting together a craft project. The committee should plan on being at the park from 12:30 until 3:00.
Basketball: The first registration time for basketball will be held on October 30 from 8-1 at the Community Center. Sign ups will also be held at the elementary school on November 4 from 6-8. There may be a final sign up time at the craft fair. The advertising has been put in the Suncook Sun. Minni will attend the coach’s meeting when it is scheduled to notarize the criminal records applications. It was decided that that $84 will be used from the P and R budget to purchase 12 basketballs.
Minni shared thank you notes from the Summer Reading program for hosting the Zoo Program and from the Old Home Day Committee for the use of Dustin Park. The library would like to co- host other events in the future.
Leslie Vogt from the Pittsfield Senior Center had spoken to Minni about sharing a license with the Seniors and co-hosting movies. Jesse thought we might not be able to do that, but will look into it.
James requested that the committee consider ice skating at the recreation area. We will discuss this at our next meeting.
