Parks and Recreation Commission

Members in attendance: Kathy Boudreau, Nick Abel, Jesse MacGlashing, Maryellen Plante

The minutes from the September meeting were approved as written.

Jesse reported on the proposed budget for next year. The repair budget was cut from $5500 to $750. We had asked for $15,500 for compensation up from $14,750. The select board approved $15,000. The rest of the budget remains the same as last year.

Harvest Fest:
*Jesse was taking care of promotion at the school and Nick and *Minni were distributing posters.
*Jesse is still working on getting a band. If he can’t find a band, he was asked to find a DJ.
*Kathy reported that the school band would not be available.
*PYW/Masons will be doing a ham and bean supper that night.
*Pie Eating- Jesse will pick up 50 pies and 4 masks for prizes.
*Face Painting- Minni will be in charge of face painting.
*Pumpkins- Kathy reported that she has 60 pumpkins for carving.
*Minni will get trash barrels, bags, and concession items from the pool house. Also she will get cider and apples. She will ask Steve Catalano from Apple View for donation of apples.
* Nick- fire truck, cruiser, ambulance, canine unit, bounce house

Gazebo: Nick talked with Chief Wharem to co-ordinate with the Sheriff’s Dept. – getting workers. Columns are at the town shed. The town crew will lift the roof off. Pat Heffernan will do the electricity. Hopefully the project will be completed before Thanksgiving.

Basketball: Jason has been working on the coaching guidelines. There will be no travel team. He is still working on getting extra hoops to allow more children to play at one time.

Minni will write the annual report this year.
