Pittsfield Website Committee

The Pittsfield Website Committee was called to order @ 7:07 pm.
Members present:

1. Minutes of September 15, 2008 were approved.
2. Ongoing Business
A. Website/Channel 24 – Steady flow of information for posting continues.
B. Pittsfield Police Department – Nice publicity received through article in the Suncook Valley Sun noting that Police forms are available on-line.
C. Email Accounts – Parks and Recs have been assigned recreation@mypittsfield.com.
D. School Technology Committee Meeting – Clayton attended the first meeting of the Committee since the change in administration at the school. As a result of that meeting, Clayton raised the following ideas/issues with the website committee.
a. Clayton suggested that the Town would benefit by having two websites developed for the School; one for activity in the School and one for public access referred to as the Superintendent’s Page. If this occurs, Clayton suggested adding the cover page of the Superintendent’s Page to the Town’s website. Clayton is discussing the idea with the School Superintendent.
b. As a minimum, the Town Website Committee felt that the Town’s website should provide basic school information such as accreditation status, dropout rate, contact information and a link to the School’s website.
c. As the Pittsfield Technology Committee becomes organized, Clayton suggested that there be formal interaction between the School’s Technology Committee and the Town’s Website Committee and that perhaps the Technology Committee’s focus
becomes broader than just the School to include Town initiatives such as the Wi-Fi system.
d. Whether Town Website Committee should take over the administration of the School’s website remains an open question.
E. Fire Department Sub web – Difficulty accessing the sub web continues to be an issue that Matt and Clayton are working on.
F. Economic Development Committee – Bob has sent Matt the EDC photos. Matt is working with EDC in the posting of the information.
New Business
1. Business Showcase – The Chamber or Commerce has invited PWC to be a business showcase exhibitor. Clayton and Bob will attend.
2. Pittsfield Drug and Alcohol Committee – Clayton will be meeting with PDAC to discuss development of a blog for their website.
3. Wireless Access – Clayton is trying to obtain a coverage map for posting on the Town’s website.
4. Hit Reports – It was suggested that website hits be included in the monthly report.
5. Publishing on Minutes- A number of Town committees fail to publish minutes. Clayton suggested putting a copy of the State RSA regarding posting of minutes on the website. It is the Town’s responsibility to enforce publishing of minutes.
