JOSIAH CARPENTER LIBRARY TRUSTEE MEETING
Minutes
September 20, 2011

Present: Dana Sansom, Chairman, Roza Benoit, Director, Mary Schelble, Secretary. Sylvia Wallace absent with notification.
Acceptance of Minutes: Moved and seconded (Dana/Mary) to accept with corrections the minutes of the August 9, 2011 meeting.
Old Business:
• Dress Code Policy pertaining to Teen Volunteers amended by motion: Teen Library Pages/Volunteers are required to wear library logo t-shirts. They may wear these shirts with dress jeans. (Mary/Dana)
• Budget Discussion: Due to time constraints on the part of 2 trustees and the Town’s request for the budget for 2012 by September 15th, the budget was prepared for presentation to the Town by Mary Schelble and the director Roza Benoit. The items had been discussed in previous trustee meetings but were set up formally and sent for vote by e-mail to Dana Sansom and Sylvia Wallace. They approved the motion on the budget made by Mary and also a motion by Mary to make a line change to the current budget. Copies of the e-mails are attached on the motions and the votes by both trustees.

A short discussion, reviewing the budget sent to the Town for 2012, was held with the conclusion that next year’s budget discussion by the trustees would begin in June in order to make final considerations and approvals at a formal trustee meeting.
Director’s and Treasurer’s Reports: Reviewed and accepted after discussion.
New Business:
• Permission was given for Sylvia Wallace to attempt to sell old catalogue cabinets that are not being used. The funds earned would be allocated after the sale.
• There was no discussion on the Police Commission ad/donation request.

Adjournment: It was moved and seconded to adjourn at 8:15 pm. (Mary/Dana)
